On cryoSPARC v3 standalone install or updated to v3 standalone

Dear All,

If I have installed cryoSPARC v2.15.0, can I still install v3 in the same computer without deleting the v2.15.0 version? In this situation how much capacity the installed v3 will occupy?

Otherwise, is any step by step protocol to update the standalone v2.15.0 to v3? For example, from how to disable existing conda environments to check whether the standalone version update was successful? Does the existing conda environments means the conda environments for the existing v2.15.0?

I am looking forward to getting your advice

Flemming

Hi @Flemming,

You can definitely install v3.0.0 alongside cryoSPARC v2.15.0. All you need to do is assign a different port to the new installation, so the services don’t clash. You can find out what port your v2.15.0 instance is running by executing cryosparcm status and noting CRYOSPARC_BASE_PORT.
The cryoSPARC binaries themselves should be no larger than 15GB.

To update to cryoSPARC v3.0.0 from an existing installation, you just need to run the command cryosparcm update
