Please do not use CryoSPARC v4.5.3 if you explicitly upgraded or downgraded to this version between September 16 and September 26. During this time, the latest CryoSPARC version was v4.6.0, so you can ignore this notice if you performed a normal installation or update and did not explicitly specify --version=v4.5.3 .
On Monday September 16 2024 at 19:24 UTC, the downloadable installer file for CryoSPARC v4.5.3 was inadvertently replaced with a partially-broken development build file that was invalid. The invalid file was available to download and install for 10 days. We found the issue and corrected the file on September 26 2024 at 19:34 UTC.
In some cases, if the the invalid file was used, CryoSPARC was able to partially start and modify project directories into such a state that made them unreadable by other versions of CryoSPARC.
If you downloaded CryoSPARC v4.5.3 between 2024-09-16 19:24 UTC and 2024-09-26 19:34 UTC, and installed it either as a new installation or via cryosparcm update --version=v4.5.3 , please
- Stop using the instance immediately
- Run
cryosparcm stopto shut it down - Please start a new topic on the discussion forum to notify us of the issue so that we can provide instructions to correct your instance.
