How to add scratch disk after installation

Hi,
When I installed cryoSPARC, there was no scratch disk present in the system, so I used the --nossd when installing. Because we noticed some processed ran quite slow, we now added a scratch disk, an external SSD disk connected with USB3.
Is there a way to add the scratch drive to cryoSPARC? Or do I have to uninstall and re-install cryoSPARC completely?

Will I then loose all the Projects and data-processing results, or will these still be available after reinstall?
