Hi everyone. I want to understand red cylinders and blue dots on euler sphere. How can I define it in a legend? I appreciate it if someone could guide me
@Azi Please can you post an example figure, and where the figure came from, for context?
you mean euler distribution plot ala Relion style (now implemented in cryosparc too). Tutorial: BILD files | CryoSPARC Guide
you can find it in many papers and read their legends. for instance: Euler angle distribution of particles that were used in the final 3D reconstruction; the height of the cylinder is proportional to the number of particles for that view.
the blue dots are just very short cylinders. the long red cylinders indicate a heavily sampled view (preferred orientation in ice). the number of cylinders around the sphere relates to the fineness of sampling.
I really appreciate it. I checked the papers, and each try to explain in their own style, and I thought it was good to be consistent as I am working on my [proposal.
