Disable SSD cache when running as cluster exclusively v5 beta

Hey!

Wondering if there is a way to disable the toggles for SSD cache by default in the UI when the only lane is a cluster with workers. When I ran the Extensive validation, some jobs failed because an SSD path was not specified in the cluster info. We do not require this specified as everything is running on NVMe already.

Will test by specifying a resource before launching the validation.

Cheers and thanks.

@vatese Was the Cache particle images on SSD toggle of the Extensive Validation job disabled when you observed the job failures?

HI @wtempel.

Yes, it was disabled during the Extensive Validation job build.

Cheers.

Local refine failed with SSD path not specified. It was disabled when launching the Extensive Validation job.

Thanks @vatese for these details. We have identified the likely cause and plan to fix the problem in a future release.
The problem is specific to local refinement jobs that are launched within Extensive Validation. Local refinement jobs outside Extensive Validation should run according the respective job’s Cache particle images on SSD setting.

Thank you @wtempel!

And is there a way to disable SSD caching for the whole instance by default? Or for projects?

Cheers,

One can set a project-level default.

Ah I see why I miss it often. I go straight into the workspace view. Thank you!

Hi @vatese,

This issue has been fixed in CryoSPARC v5.0.2, thanks!
