cryoSPARC concatenates multiple UUIDs

I found recently that when I import/process files that already have a UUID from CS, instead of replacing the UUID, CS simply adds a new UUID to the start.

Normally this is ok, but if the filenames are already long, it starts to break things - for example, Topaz fails if the micrograph filenames are too many characters.

Would it be possible for CS to replace the existing UUID, rather than append a new one? Or alternatively, is there some way within CS to take an existing micrograph set and replace the existing UUID(s)?

Hi @olibclarke, thanks for the suggestion, we’ve had an eye on this one in our tracker as well. Will post here when we have an update.
