Cannot move database

Hi Cryosparc Developers,
I was trying to move the database directory to a new location. I followed the steps here: https://guide.cryosparc.com/processing-data/tutorials-and-case-studies/tutorial-migrating-your-cryosparc-instance.

When I modified my config.sh and changed the CRYOSPARC_DB_PATH, I couldnot start cryosparc. I kept getting the following error:
CryoSPARC is not already running.
If you would like to restart, use cryosparcm restart
Starting cryoSPARC System master process…
CryoSPARC is not already running.
database: ERROR (spawn error)

However, when I switched back to the old directory of the CRYOSPARC_DB_PATH, everything was just fine.

Do you have an idea what might cause this?

I wish an admin command would be provided for relocating cryosparc. I also had trouble following the migration guide a while ago, and ended up just reinstalling from scratch. Please post if you get a solution!

Node is not in primary or recovering state

Hi @shockacone, assuming you are running the latest cryoSPARC v3.2, I’d suggest installing the latest patch. The patch includes commands cryosparcm checkdb and cryosparcm fixdbport to automatically reconfigure the base port. However the cryosparcm patch command requires a running command server, which you don’t have yet. Important! If you’re not running v3.2.0 do not install these patches. Check the contents of cryosparc_master/version to verify. If the contents are not v3.2.0, re-install first …
