Anisotropic 3D in regular refinment Vs "good" 3D refinemnet in live session

Hi all,
The Cryosparc live session, with binned particles, resulted with a nice map that went beyond 3.75A.
When I tried to recalculate it with the unbinned particles, the 3D refined map (homogeneous refinement) was very anisotropic.
I then tried to re-process in a regular session the same particles. Everything was exactly as in the live session, but the map, surprisingly, is anisotropic! - all parameters are exactly the same, Cryosparc’s defaults.
That’s the “good” map:

And the bad one:

Thanks for your help

What were the job types of the parents (providing volume and particles) of the homogeneous refinement job?

Please can you post as screenshot of the tree view of this workflow, spanning the origin of the particles and the refinement that resulted in an anisotropic map.

Please also can you send us the job reports (with Include event log images enabled)

  • of Live streaming refinement that produced the “good” map
  • homogeneous refinement with unbinned particles that produced an anisotropic map
  • the refinement job where you attempted to reproduce the Live result, but obtained an anisotropic map.
  • Orientation diagnostics of the “good” Live refinement
