When can we compress/move raw movies?

Hi,

We would like to compress the raw movies asap and at I was wondering at what stage is it safe to do so?
My guess is that once the MotionCorrection and the local motion correction are done, it is safe to compress or move the raw data.I think the movies are imported as symlink but I am not sure if they are still somehow used in the later stages or not.
Can anyone confirm it would be fine or would it create any error in CryoSparc?

Hi @ncoudray,

You’re correct, the movies are sym-linked into the job’s folder, so if you remove them, you will not be able to create aligned micrographs from them in the future. Also you’re correct, Rigid Motion, Local Motion, Patch motion and CTFFIND4 are the only jobs that may use the raw movies.
