Hi,
In heterogeneous reconstruction, there is a download menu with items like map, map_sharp, map_half_A, etc.
I would expect that e.g. map_half_A would contain all of the half maps as MRC files, but it does not - instead it is a .cs.
file that only has the metadata for these maps (I assume).
Is this the intention, or is this a bug? Currently series
and series_sharp
contain bundles of maps, while the rest are metadata files (which is not very obvious from the names IMO).
Cheers
Oli
Just to note - this is sort of improved in 4.6, but is still a little confusing IMO - e.g. here in a 3D classification job, the “map” entry is tagged “map” but is in fact a .cs
file…
Hi Oli,
Thanks for reporting! For volumes groups, it is in fact the intended behaviour that the map
download is a .cs
file that provides metadata about multiple maps, whereas the series
outputs are intended to allow downloading all the volumes in the group for visualization (Job: Split Volumes Group | CryoSPARC Guide). This is different from a single volume output, where the map only refers to a single volume so we can make the download action pull down just that one volume. We’ve recoded the note about changing the label in v4.6 to indicate that the map
is a .cs file for volume groups.
Thanks!

Thanks Ali - yes I understand the intent, and I think changing the type label to cs should make it clearer.
Cheers
