Updates to guide pages for mask creation and local refinement

Hello CryoSPARC users! We’ve updated the guide pages for the jobs related to Local Refinement to provide more theoretical and practical information on how these jobs work and when they might be useful.

The Local Refinement job page has more detailed descriptions and new figures for several important and commonly-changed parameters, as well as troubleshooting advice for common failure modes.

The Yeast U4/U6.U5 tri-snRNP Local Refinement Case Study has been re-written from the ground up. New figures and detailed text make the page more approachable for new users, and suggested exercises at the end of the case study leave room for guided exploration of the technique before users move on to processing their own data.

The Particle Subtraction job page includes a new figure to highlight the differences between subtraction and masking.

The Mask Creation page has been re-written from the ground up, including new figures and detailed explanation of why certain parameter choices matter. Additionally, detailed descriptions of three different techniques for mask creation (volume segmentation, volume eraser, and molecular map) are provided in both written and video forms.

We hope that these pages serve both as a friendly starting place for new users and as a valuable reference for those with more experience working with single particle data!
