Hello CryoSPARC users! We’re happy to announce that we’ve released a few updates to the guide.
2D Classification Updates
The following guide pages have been re-written from the ground up:
Each of these pages are now in a standardized format to make it easier to find the information you’re looking for. They also include new figures and explanations of commonly changed parameters. We hope these updated pages make it easier to understand not only what to set certain parameters to, but why you might change them in the first place.
Expectation Maximization
2D Classification is often one of the first jobs new users run on single particle images. As such, it is also the first place most users encounter the Expectation-Maximization algorithm. Expectation-Maximization is foundational to cryo-EM and many other fields. As such, this update includes a new Cryo-EM Foundations page covering the Expectation-Maximization algorithm as it specifically applies to cryo-EM.
As with other Foundations pages, we do not aim to provide a complete understanding of the algorithm. Rather, we hope that this gives most users enough information to understand the inner workings of Single Particle Analysis and gives interested readers a good idea of where to turn next.
As always, we look forward to hearing your feedback on these and other guide pages. Happy processing!
