when looking through cryosparc-guide, I notice that “The defocus landscape displays the modeled defocus over the entire micrograph. Typically, this landscape should display some variation that captures the shape of the ice layer.”
but mine is rather flat, does this mean anything wrong? my parameter is basically by default. my photo raw pixel size is 0.512 (super-resolution mic, so it’s 0.256, but I crop to 1/2 in motion correction)
but about 1/2 of my mic is like this, got a blank spot on the edge due to the telescope
however, the 2D ctf I show is from normal picture without a blank space
What does the CTF estimated resolution look like for the data set?

I read the paper sorry don’t get it a lot, i wonder how you feel that ice is thick in these pics.
and I check some other better mic, still look not very good
also, I download some mics from EMPIAR-12083, and check its CTF, it looks like this, is there any simple signs to tell some conditions of a mic? really appreciate a lot

The CTF seems to have some sinc function over it, that can be a sign of thick ice.
