extraction jobtype takes an hour or two for both CPU or GPU version, limited by read/write. multiple jobs in parallel do not slow each other down. When speed is critical I will split micrograph set (say 10k) in batches and extract from each batch simultaneously, speeding up the job by a factor equal to number of splits. 4 simultaneous jobs ~ 4x faster. Would it be possible to have a parameter or jobtype that splits micros/particles for multiple simultaneous processes and rejoins them cleanly? or is there something I’m missing? increasing number of cores seems to have no effect on our setup. why would I wait hours to slowly operate on 10k micrographs one at a time when 4 jobs can go just as fast on 2500 and be done in 30 minutes? other than the minor annoyance of doing the splitting and creating many job cards
