Sort/align 2D classes for Select 2D? (feature request)

Hi,

This “Rebalance 2D classes” job new in 2.16 beta seems like it will be very handy in the presence of preferred orientation - just testing it out now!

I notice that in the clustering procedure it aligns all 2D classes in each cluster. Would it be possible to add this as an option for “Select 2D”? It makes it much easier to visually compare similar classes.

Thanks for requesting this feature. Currently, we decided to separate the scope of the rebalance 2D classes job to include clustering, alignment, and optional rebalancing of class sizes (rather than combining this into Select 2D or at the end of 2D Classification), so that heavier computation is avoided in Select 2D. However, doing some sort of alignment for visualization purposes would certainly be helpful upstream of a rebalancing job as you suggested (since the usual workflow is 2D classification, selection, then rebalancing) – we have it tracked!
