Signal subtraction using an inverted mask

Dear All,

I was wondering what would be the outcome of a signal subtraction job using an inverted mask, followed by local refinement. As I have already a good mask for the region of interest (the one I want to keep) I was thinking to simply invert it to subtract everything else… Perhaps this approach is too drastic ?

Slower than normal and works well. Give it a try

I believe the #vop subtract# command in ChimeraX would serve the same purpose.

slower in which calculation ? the subtraction ?

actually i am wondering whether by subtracting an inverted mask it will affect the data or the processing somehow.
