Set random seed (Patch Motion & Patch CTF) [feature request]

Hi,

Patch Motion and Patch CTF both have the option “Only process this many movies”, which apparently randomly selects n movies from the input set. As stated in the description, this is useful for tweaking parameters.

However, it would be more useful if one could fix the seed used for random selection, so that one could easily get the same selection of movies for multiple different trials of different params - would it be possible to add this?

Hi @olibclarke, thanks, I’ve added this to our list.
In the meantime, you can use the Exposure Sets Tool to create a particular selection of movies which you can use as an input to multiple Patch Motion and Patch CTF jobs in order to experiment with parameters. Hope this helps!
