The new sorting methods in Class2D are very handy. It would be useful if a subsequent Select2D retained the sorting method used in the input class2D job - it is a bit jarring seeing them reordered by default.
Perhaps Select2D should default to sorting however the input is sorted - whether that is by class index, particle number or similarity - and then keeping this as an “input” sorting option in Select2D? That way, if the input classes are sorted by similarity, this will be preserved in Select2D.
We’ve made a note of preserving the sorting method in Class 2D as the default sorting method in Select 2D. (NB: Likely this would only be implemented in the quick action, because the used sorting method in Class 2D is a job parameter rather than an attribute of the particle dataset).
We’ve also made a note to allow sorting by similarity in Select 2D.
