Restrict projections to single asymmetric unit in "Create Templates"?

Hi,

“Create Templates” is very useful to generate equally spaced projections of a map for picking, or just to compare with 2D classes.

However, for highly symmetric objects, it generates many identical projections, as it creates equally spaced projections across the entire sphere, regardless of symmetry.

Would it be possible to add an option to restrict it to a single asymmetric unit, to reduce this redundancy?

Thanks for the request – I’ve also recently had the need to do the exact same thing :slight_smile: Will add this to our tracker and add option to limit to a given ASU

Any update on this @mmclean? Another way to achieve the same outcome would be to allow Rebalance 2D to do superclassification without a particle input - basically use it to just identify unique 2D classes…?
