Registration is now open for the upcoming two-day CryoSPARC Workshop being held in Toronto in September 2026.
As part of the Canadian Cryo-EM Nexus, The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids) and Structura Biotechnology are hosting the in-person, hands-on workshop ”Beyond consensus refinements: Advanced cryo-EM data processing with CryoSPARC” at SickKids in Toronto on September 24-25, 2026.
Designed for participants with prior CryoSPARC experience, this advanced course offers a unique opportunity to deepen your data processing skills under the guidance of experts from Structura Biotechnology and move beyond a single high-quality consensus reconstruction. Together, we will explore questions such as:

How can we identify hidden sample heterogeneity and recognize 3D map artifacts or pathologies?

How can we make informed data processing decisions by interpreting 3D maps, diagnostic plots, and metadata?
The goal of this workshop is to provide practical context to the often-heard statement: “It depends on your sample.”
To get the most out of the course, applicants should be familiar with cryo-EM imaging and the fundamentals of single-particle analysis, including Fourier analysis, refinement principles, Fourier Shell Correlation (FSC), and the Contrast Transfer Function (CTF).
