Reextract particles after "reassign UIDs" in vol align tools

Dear community,

The case study “encapsulated ferritin” nicely guides the user through manually symmetry expanding a tetrameric structure. I was wondering if it was possible to re-extract the manually symmetry expanded particles with a smaller box size. Attached you can find a screen shot from the case study, where the box size is too big for the particle to be refined.

when I try to reextract the particles, the following error message appears:
AssertionError: Slot particles.location must be connected in connection 0!
I followed the inputs back to the location where the particles contain particles.location but it still did not work.

all the best,
Tamino

Thanks for reporting @Tamino.

It isn’t expected that particles.location are lost – we’ve a few questions to help troubleshoot. Did you identify the job in the particle flow where particles.location was lost exactly? Was it before or after the Volume Alignment Tools job where Reassign UIDs was enabled?

Best,
Michael

hello @mmclean,

thank you for your quick reply!
The particles.location was lost during the first align 3D job, after the 3D classification. If this should not be the case, I will re-do the steps and check if the issue persists.

I will get back to you!

Best,
Tamino

Hey @mmclean

I re-did all steps. You are correct, the particle.location did not get lost in the second work-through. I can re-extract the particles now.

Best,
Tamino
