I am working on a single (ancient :-D) workstation:
CPU Intel XEON E5-2698v3 16x2.3 GHz/9.6GT/40MB
2x RAM DDR4 REG 32GB
1x Nvidia GeForce GT710
2x Nvidia GeForce GT1070
I noticed that the web-interface itself is quite slow on my machine. Any settings or hardware upgrades to improve that?

If running the web interface locally, try disabling hardware acceleration for the browser.
The GT710 is going to struggle with browser hardware acceleration, to the point where it might be quicker on the CPU.
I’ve noticed particularly with Chromium based browsers that with a weak GPU, hardware acceleration can really chug.
Also, SSDs or HDDs? Running SSDs for where the master/worker/database is installed really helps.
Thanks, turning off the hardware acceleration in firefox did improve the speed by a lot!
