Perfect icosahedral symmetry

Dear all,
I have a map from an icosahedral particle and would like to ask how I could get a perfectly symmtric map after the reconstruction, ie, one in which the map of a protomer is averaged over the 60 copies and is exactly the same for each of them.
Best,
Xavier

Impose icosahedral symmetry during refinement? Or am I misunderstanding your request?

No, I would like to end up having a perfectly symmetric map, with the density for each protomer being exactly the same. Currently, even imposing symmetry ā€œIā€ throughout the process of reconstruction, the final map is very similar though not identical for all the subunits.

Hi @xgrcri! If the remaining asymmetry is very small, you may be looking at interpolation artifacts. I explain this a bit more in this post.
