Ideal input for the junk detector?

Hello,

The junk detector is very helpful, but I found that its documentation is missing some info about what the best input is.

Should I input raw micrographs or denoised micrographs? I guess this should be matched with the type of micrographs the junk detector was trained on.
The figures in the documentation suggest denoised micrographs, but it is unclear whether this is only for visualization or what the junk denoiser used as input.

Thank you!

Hi @Guillaume!

The documentation shows denoised micrographs only for illustration purposes. The Junk Detector always uses the raw (that is, not denoised) micrographs. However, you can plug in any micrographs output you like, denoised or not, provided they were originally motion corrected in Patch Motion Correction. CryoSPARC will choose the correct version of the micrographs automatically, so no need to worry about connecting denoised micrographs to the Junk Detector.
