hi all,
I don’t know whether my helix has 1 start, or more. If I use the helical symmetry estimation tool how do I then deal with N-start helices? Is the output from sym estimation the parameters that I would use for helical refinement?
thanks
Jesse

Hi @orangeboomerang,
Yes – regardless of the number of starts of the helix, the symmetry parameters found by the symmetry estimation tool are consistent with what helical refinement takes as input.
See my related reply here for more details on the number of starts: N-start helix definition - #9 by mmclean
