Flip hand in volume alignment tools (feature request)

It would be useful if there was an option to flip the hand in volume alignment tools, so that if we have refined with an inverted initial volume, we can quickly fix both particle orientations and the matching volume, without redoing refinement.

Currently one can work around this by making a flipped hand map using vol tools, then using align 3D maps (which does accept a particle input) to match the two, but it would be more convenient to have it as an option in vol alignment tools I think.

Hi @olibclarke!

I’ve recorded your request!

In the meantime, I thought I’d point out that Homogeneous Reconstruct Only has a parameter Flip the reconstruction hand which will flip both the map and the particles. I understand this results in an unnecessary reconstruction step, but still may prove useful for you!
