I agree, the ptcls associated (and numbers also) are different. Top one here with all orientations from 2d with ~10k ptcls, whereas bottom was only ~4k ptcls with that single orientation.

No, I mean because of the way that it is⦠looking at your ab initio, it is ellipsoidal with a circular cross section, obvious 2-fold orthogonal to the major axis of the ellipsoid, and repetitive striations along the major axis. Reasonable hypothesis that there is a Cn axis coincident with the major axis of the ellipsoid, which would make the overall symmetry Dn. Worth testing, anyway, IMO, as a starting point.
