If there are corrupted moviestacks, perhaps a workaround would be to partially preprocess in cryoSPARC-Live, where it’s easier to discard non-productive inputs.

Was there anything unusual in the EER files that led to the failure in opening them? Thanks for looking into this.
My question has been addressed. The files were copied into a WD spinning disk harddrive, and then worked fine.
