Transfer global CTF parameters between particle stacks

I have a dataset which consists of two types of particles. One is common and refines to high resolution and global CTF parameters can be refined for these. The other type of particle is rare and therefore the resolution is much worse and global CTF parameters cannot be accurately refined.

Is it possible to transfer the global CTF parameters between the two particles stacks? I think not? Normally, I would use the low-level results interface, but this fails here. I think this is because the CTF output also includes per-particle defocus values.

Could you make the global CTF parameters to be a separate low-level results group and not connect them to the particles.

I guess this could be done using the scripting interface, but that is messy. In RELION, it would be a simple copy/paste of the particle.star header.

Agreed, I have also wanted this (& I think requested in the past)

Should be straightforward with CS tools but I think would make sense to build in

In the meantime, there is a way to do this using CryoSPARC tools, if you like. Let me know if you can’t get that script working for any reason, I’d be happy to help troubleshoot :slight_smile:
